About

ThadeThis blog was founded in June 2016 as a platform to express my opinions and thoughts on current issues and to explore my interest in journalistic writing.

I am originally from Germany and grew up in the flat, empty, but lovely northern German countryside. After graduating from grammar school with good marks my parents encouraged me to take the plunge and move to the United Kindom for a while. Here I first worked as an Aupair and then, after a year, started university.

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015 with a BSc Hons Psychology and will finish my MSc Psychological Research Methods this summer.

During my time at university I was a member of the Amnesty Society (I still am a member of Amnesty International) and became more interested in current affairs and photography. Recently I decided to try and bring these two passions together by regularly writing a blog.

The focus of this blog lies in opinion pieces and analysis of current affairs. I will also do the occasional report on a specific issue that I researched if I find the time to do this. I do not see myself as belonging to one specific political strand but am probably best described as social-liberal and/or centre-left. However, when writing articles I base my conclusions on the facts and do not pick the facts to fit my opinions.

Feel free to read a few of my posts and please comment if you have any thoughts on them!

P.S.

I’m also an enthusiastic photographer – check out my portfolio website!
